Over the Fall we were busy completing a number of homes in Aspen, and taking a lot of new photos. We are excited to share our latest work with you, starting with this glimpse of one of our projects in Aspen's West End.
There’s something about the spaces, the light and the comfortable curvaceous furnishings that are uniquely warm and inviting. The interiors were a delightful collaboration with a visionary client and the talented team at Rutgers Construction. The result is a home that inspires and elevates the senses.
The double-height, oak-paneled living room ceilings provide a lofty, expansive feeling. The architecture, by local architect, John Galambos, is classic in style, with the perfect balance of contemporary lines and elegant traditional details. Into these light and airy spaces, we placed layers of Moroccan rugs, cozy textures of alpaca, mohair and shearling, and furnishings by exceptional makers from around the US.

Our New Aspen Design Studio
As the aspens shed their last golden leaves and early snows flock the mountains with winter white, we are excited to share that we’re settling into our new Aspen design studio. We have had a number of different offices in Aspen over the years, but this one is our favorite. In the lovely and historic Floradora building on Main Street, it’s the perfect setting in which to deepen our Aspen roots.
This year marks 15 years since the founding of Joe McGuire Design, and it has certainly been one of the most remarkable years of all. In spite of the whirlwind of changes resulting from the pandemic, we’ve been able to safely complete home projects for appreciative clients in the West End, at Five Trees, up on Red Mountain and at the base of Ajax, among others. (We are excited to share photos of these projects soon!)
With three full-time team members based in Aspen (in addition to Joe and Matthew), our new Main Street office is allowing us to embrace new opportunities and share our enthusiasm with co-workers and clients. Part design studio, part showroom, part casual gathering place, our new work-home is uniquely centering. We look forward to sharing it with you.
Warmest wishes,
Joe McGuire & Matthew Tenzin
